We are searching for a Lead Flood Engineer with 5+ years experience to join our team and work towards a senior or Team Leader position. There are only two requirements; you have strong technical experience and an interest in innovation.

JBPacific is a team of scientists, engineers and innovators. Our passion is in extreme weather management, from cyclones to tsunami, which we deliver from our office in Brisbane, Australia. Our work includes catchment hydrology studies, flood investigations and modelling, waterway engineering and the development of sophisticated flood forecasting systems to help manage flood risk and weather-related hazards.
We have a new opportunity for a Lead Flood Engineer in Brisbane.
About you: This role would suit someone with over 5 years’ experience in hydraulic modelling, that is looking to work on a wide variety of flood risk management projects. A demonstrated experience and a proven track record as a flood modeller is a requirement for the position. As a senior appointment, the successful candidate will directly report to our Flood Risk Technical Director, and work towards a Principal Engineer or Team Leader role.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A love for flooding and solving flood-related problems including coastal, estuarine and fluvial flooding assessments.
Demonstrated experience in a wide range of flood modelling packages including TUFLOW, HECRAS, URBS, XPRAFTS.
Five years’ plus experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Relevant engineering qualification.
Be a permanent Australian resident or hold an Australian working visa.
Project management experience and/or qualifications
Professional standing such as RPEQ and/or CPEng would be highly desirable
Additional academic qualifications, e.g. Master degree, PhD
Experience in GIS (QGIS, ArcMap) and coding (Python) desirable.
